Meet Your Driver
Hi! My name is Diano Garcia and I’m the owner and operator of Lopez Island Taxi. I’ve called Lopez Island home since 2000, first arriving here as a touring musician after performing on the island in the late 1990s and quickly falling in love with the community and natural beauty of the San Juans.

Not long after moving here, I met my wife on the island after she had hitchhiked all the way from Costa Rica, one of those very Lopez stories that still makes us smile. Together we’ve built a life and family here and feel incredibly grateful to call this island home.

For much of my life I worked professionally as a singer, songwriter, drummer, and percussionist. These days, many people know me as the friendly school bus driver on the village route or from helping coach our local high school girls soccer team.

I love the simple rhythms of island life, spending time with my wife, going on walks with our dog Daisy, and watching our two teenage daughters grow up in this close-knit community we love so much.
